Titans Hoping To Re-Sign NT Al Woods

Tiffany Blackmon of NFL Media reports that the Titans have been in contact with reps for NT Al Woods and are hoping to get a deal done.

Terry McCormick previously reported that the re-signing Woods was “one of the top priorities” for the Titans this offseason, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

Woods, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Saints back in 2010. However, he lasted just a few months in New Orleans before he was waived at the start of the 2010 season.

After a brief stint with the Steelers, Woods was claimed off of waivers by the Buccaneers, but his stay was once again short lived. He later signed with the Seahawks before returning to the Steelers in 2011.

The Titans elected to sign him to a contract in March of 2014.

In 2015, Woods appeared in 14 games for the Titans and recorded 22 tackles and no sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 88 interior defensive lineman out of 123 qualifying players.
