Titans Hosted CB Cary Williams For A Visit, “Nothing Imminent”

Update:

Paul Kuharsky of ESPN reports that there’s “nothing imminent” between the Titans and veteran CB Cary Williams, who visited with the team on Thursday.

———-

According to Aaron Wilson, free agent CB Cary Williams visited with the Titans on Thursday.

Williams has reportedly drawn interest from several other teams since he became available, but this is his first visit.

Williams, 30, signed a three-year, $18 million contract that included a $3.5 million signing bonus with the Seahawks back in March, but he lasted less than a year with the team.

Seattle cut him loose on Monday, but given that he had base salaries of $5 million (2016) and $6 million (2017) remaining on the agreement, so it’s not surprising to see NFL teams wait until he cleared waivers before contacting him.

This season, Williams has appeared in 10 games and recorded 46 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown and four pass defenses.

We’ll have more regarding where Williams could be playing as the news is available.
