Titans “Likely” To Franchise TE Jared Cook

Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean reports that the Titans are prepared to use their franchise tag this offseason and the “most likely” candidate for the designation is TE Jared Cook.

Wyatt adds that the Titans “don’t want to lose him,” but a long-term deal is unlikely to be reached any time soon.

This would undoubtedly come as a disappointment for Cook and he not only would delay a long-term contract based on market value, but he returns to a team that has struggled to utilize him in their offense.

There’s no doubt that Cook is a very talented player, but it’s hard to imagine things getting much better for him in 2013.
