Titans LT Michael Roos Expects To Be In Tennessee For One More Year

Titans veteran LT Michael Roos told reporters on Tuesday that he’s “here for one more year” and plans on playing left tackle this season.

Roos is an interesting player given that he has played at a high level for Tennessee for a number of years now. However, the Titans spent a good amount of money on Michael Oher in free agency and then used their first-round pick on Taylor Lewan.

On top of that, Roos is entering the final year of his contract, so there appears to be a decent enough chance that the Titans could move on in 2015.

Terry McCormick of TitansInsider.com reported a few weeks ago there is “talk” that the Titans could even release Roos, but that idea hasn’t gained much traction in recent weeks.

Roos, 31, has a $6.625 million base salary for the 2014 season and is currently finishing out the final year of his six-year, $43 million contract.

If the Titans were to cut Roos, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Steelers show interest in him given that former Titans HC Mike Munchak is now their offensive coach.

Pro Football Focus had Roos rated as the No. 16 offensive tackle in the league last season.
