Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean is tweeting all kinds of Titans news today. He discusses prospects for the line on both sides of the ball, while taking a shot at the clarifying the FS position as well.
On the offensive side, Wyatt confirms that G Jake Scott has not discussed a new contract with the Titans and is expected to hit the market on March 13th. Defensively, DEs Dave Ball and Jason Jones are also expected to join Scott on the market, despite Jones having had talks with the team.
FS Michael Griffin too looks either to be franchise tagged in the next few days or take a spin on the market.
Perhaps in preparation for the departures, the Titans are reportedly eying DE Robert Mathis and FSs Reggie Nelson and Haruki Nakamura. Nakamura may be the most likely choice for the Titans, as both Mathis and Nelson are high on the list of priorities for the Colts and Bengals respectively.
Whatever the case, the Titans have a large deal of cap space to go and address what looks like to be a significant amount of holes left by departing players. The next few months should be particularly eventful in Nashville.
