Titans Officially Hire Matt LaFleur As OC & Dean Pees As DC

The Tennessee Titans announced Tuesday morning that they’ve officially hired Matt LaFleur as their new offensive coordinator and Dean Pees as defensive coordinator.

“I am excited to add both of these guys to our staff,” Vrabel said. “Dean brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to our staff. I have seen first-hand how he teaches and develops from our time together and I wanted to bring that same experience to our players here.”

“Matt brings an energy and an offensive diversity to our team. He is going to develop an offense that puts our players in position to have success. Matt has worked with some great offensive minds, helped game plan on those staffs and I am looking forward to seeing him take that next step as a play-caller.

LaFleur, 37, began his NFL coaching career with the Texans as their offensive quality control coach back in 2008. He later took over as the Redskins’ QBs coach in 2010 and spent four years with Washington.

After one year at Notre Dame, LaFleur returned to the NFL when the Falcons hired him as their QBs coach in 2015. He departed to become the offensive coordinator of the Rams last year.

Pees, 68, began his NFL coaching career with the Patriots back in 2004 as their linebackers coach. He worked his way up to defensive coordinator before joining the Ravens in 2010.

Baltimore promoted him to their defensive coordinator in 2012 and he remained in charge of their defense the past six seasons.
