Titans Place OT Michael Oher On I.R. & Promote DB Khalid Wooten

The Tennessee Titans announced Saturday that they have placed OT  Michael Oher on season-ending injured reserve and signed DB Khalid Wooten off of their practice squad.

There has been a lot of talk that this could be Oher’s first and final season with the Titans, despite the fact that he signed a four-year, $20 million contract that included $9.35 million guaranteed.

The Titans could free up $2 million in 2015, $4 million in 2016 and another $5 million in 2017 by releasing Oher.

Oher, 28, currently grades out as the No. 74 overall offensive tackle out of 78 qualifying players, according to Pro Football Focus.

Given the cap savings and his play this season, it really wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see them cut Oher loose next year.
