Titans Place OT Michael Roos On Season-Ending I.R., Promote TE Brett Brackett

The Tennessee Titans announced Saturday that they have officially placed on OT Michael Roos on season-ending injured reserve and signed TE Brett Brackett to their active roster.

Titans HC Ken Whisenhunt previously announced that Roos was done for the season, so this is really just a formality. He will undergo surgery on his right knee after he recently sustained an injury.

Roos, 31, is in the final year of his six-year $43 million contract.  He has a $6.625 million base salary for the 2014 season, but he still carries significant value, as he has proven to be a durable and effective lineman.

Pro Football Focus has Roos rated as the No. 16 overall offensive tackle in the league with positive grades in both run and pass-protection.

Brackett, 26, signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State back in 2011, but was later waived from the team’s practice squad in September. He has since had brief stints with the Jaguars, Eagles and Cardinals before the Titans signed him to a contract over a month ago.
