Titans Place RB/KR Dexter McCluster On I.R. & Sign QB Mike Kafka To PS

The Tennessee Titans announced Wednesday that they’ve placed RB/KR Dexter McCluster on season-ending injured reserve.

  • Titans promoted S Josh Aubrey to their active roster.
  • Titans signed QB Mike Kafka and WR Nick Harwell to their practice squad.

McCluster, 27, is in the second year of his three-year, $9 million contract that includes $4.5 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $2.35 million this season and another $2.275 million in 2016.

McCluster’s 2015 season ends with him appearing in 11 games and rushing for 247 yards on 55 carries (4.5 YPC) to go along with 31 receptions for 260 yards receiving and two total touchdowns. McCluster also contributed 502 total return yards.

Kakfa, 28, is a former fourth round pick of the Eagles back in 2010. Since then Kafka has played for a number of teams including the Patriots, Jaguars, and Buccaneers before signing on with the Vikings back in April.

Minnesota signed him to a one-year $660,000 contract back in April. However, he was placed on injured reserve and later released a few weeks into the regular season.

Kafka hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2011 season when he was playing for the Eagles.
