Titans Place S Johnathan Cyprien On IR, Sign OT Laurence Gibson

The Tennessee Titans announced Friday that they’ve placed S Johnathan Cyprien on injured reserve and waived DL Connor Flagel with an injury designation.

  • The Titans also signed OT Laurence Gibson to a contract and activated TE Phillip Supernaw from the PUP list.

The Titans are hosting several notable safeties for workouts today, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them sign someone either tonight or tomorrow.

Cyprien, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $5,469,104 contract with the Jaguars before signing a four-year, $25 million contract with the Titans last year.

Cyprien stands to make base salaries of $4.5 million and $5.5 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Cyprien appeared in 10 games for the Titans and recorded 57 tackles, one sack, no interceptions and a pass defense.
