Titans Placing DL Karl Klug On I.R. With Torn Achilles

Titans HC Mike Mularkey announced Monday that DL Karl Klug is out for the season with a torn Achilles and will be placed on injured reserve in the coming days, per Jim Wyatt.

  • Klug will undergo surgery on his Achilles.

Klug, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Titans back in 2011. He’s currently in the final year of his two-year, $3.75 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1.5 million for the 2016 season before testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent next year.

In 2016, Klug has appeared in 14 games and recorded 26 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a pass defense for the Titans.
