Titans QB Jake Locker Beginning To Regress

So far, there’s been a lot made about Jake Locker‘s upside heading into his second season with the Tennessee Titans and while he’s gotten off to a solid start in training camp, things haven’t gone quite so well in recent days.

Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean writes that Locker has only completed 9-of-30 passes during the last two practices, while Matt Hasselbeck has been much better (26-for-31).

There’s no question that Locker’s skill set adds a new dynamic to the Titans’ offense, but 9 for 30 in a practice setting isn’t going to help convince the coaching staff that he’s ready supplant a veteran quarterback who’s much more efficient at this point. The preseason games will be huge for this quarterback competition which is why it’s still too early write of Locker.
