Titans QB Marcus Mariota Has Elbow Injury, Replaced By Blaine Gabbert

The Tennessee Titans announced that QB Marcus Mariota is questionable to return to Sunday’s game against the Dolphins with an elbow injury.

Blaine Gabbert has replaced Mariota at quarterback for the Titans while he’s out.

Mariota, 24, is a former No. 2 overall pick of the Titans back in 2015.  He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $24.214 million rookie contract that’s fully guaranteed and is set to make a base salary of $2,636,270 to go along with another $3,736,905 next year.

The Titans picked up Mariota’s fifth-year option back in April worth $20.922 million for the 2019 season.

In 2017, Mariota has appeared in 15 games and thrown for 3,232 yards while completing 62 percent of his passes to go along with 13 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He has also rushed for 312 yards and five touchdowns. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 12 quarterback out of 39 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Mariota as the news is available.
