Titans QB Marcus Mariota Day To Day With Hamstring Strain, TEN Could Still Add QB

Update:

Titans HC Mike Mularkey announced Monday QB Marcus Mariota is day-to-day with a strained hamstring, per Terry McCormick. However, the Titans are still discussing the possibility of adding a quarterback this week, per McCormick.

The plan, for now, is to have Matt Cassel take as many reps as possible on Wednesday.

Mularkey said Mariota’s MRI “wasn’t surprising,” and compared it to DeMarco Murray‘s hamstring injury, per McCormick.

Tennesee Titans QB Marcus Mariota suffered a hamstring injury during the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Texans and has been replaced by Matt Cassel.

The Titans announced that Mariota is out to return to the game.

Should Mariota miss time with this injury, Cassel would be in line to start against the Dolphins, Colts and Browns over the next three weeks.

Mariota, 23, is a former No. 2 overall pick of the Titans back in 2015.  He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $24.214 million rookie contract that’s fully guaranteed and is set to make a base salary of $2,636,270 to go along with another $3,736,905 next year.

Entering today’s game, Mariota had thrown for 696 yards while completing 60 percent of his passes to go along with three touchdowns and one interception. He has also rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown.

We’ll have more regarding Mariota as the news is available.
