Titans QB Marcus Mariota Will Start Against Colts On Monday

Paul Kuharsky reports that Titans QB Marcus Mariota will, in fact, play against the Colts on Monday.

Indications have been positive regarding Mariota’s status for Week 6, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. It will be interesting to see if the hamstring injury limits Mariota’s scrambling ability, which has been a big part of his game.

The Titans started Matt Cassel last week while Mariota was out with a hamstring injury.

Mariota, 23, is a former No. 2 overall pick of the Titans back in 2015.  He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $24.214 million rookie contract that’s fully guaranteed and is set to make a base salary of $2,636,270 to go along with another $3,736,905 next year.

In 2017, Mariota has appeared in four games and thrown for 792 yards while completing 60 percent of his passes to go along with three touchdowns and three interceptions. He has also rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 20 quarterback out of 32 qualifying players.
