Report: Titans Reached Out To Free Agent QB JaMarcus Russell

ESPN ‘s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday Countdown that the Tennessee Titans have reached out to free agent QB JaMarcus Russell this past week.

  • Russell reportedly turned them down as he’s currently rehabbing a knee injury.
  • Schefter believes Russell has a decent chance of being on an NFL roster at some point this season.

Russell has been out of the league for almost three years now since being cut by the Raiders. Since then, he has been preparing himself for a possible comeback and a few teams have monitored his progress.

The Titans are clearly in the market for a signal caller after starter Jake Locker’s injury will most likely keep him out for at least a month.

It’s honestly surprising that Russell is finding interest from NFL teams, given how things played out in Oakland. This of course is due to the fact that there isn’t very many decent quarterback options available right now.
