Titans Release OT Michael Oher

Update:

The Titans have announced the release of Michael Oher after failing a physical with the team.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that the Titans have cut veteran OT Michael Oher.

There has been plenty of speculation that this move was coming for Oher just a year after he signed a four-year, $20 million contract that included $9.35 million guaranteed.

According to OverTheCap.com, the Titans could free up $2 million in 2015, $4 million in 2016 and another $5 million in 2017 by releasing Oher.

It’s worth mentioning that this move also creates $3 million in dead money for the 2015 season.

After Oher signed with the Titans, the Ravens received a compensatory draft pick for him, which they used to draft standout rookie Ricky Wagner.

Oher, 28, graded out as the No. 75 overall offensive tackle out of 84 qualifying players, according to Pro Football Focus. His struggles were across the board as PFF has him rated poorly in both run and pass-blocking this past season.
