Titans Release Veteran S Da’Norris Searcy

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Titans have released veteran S Da’Norris Searcy on Friday.

Searcy, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Bills back in 2011. He played out his rookie contract in Buffalo and eventually signed a four-year, $23.75 million deal that included $7 million guaranteed with the Titans in 2015.

Last year, Searcy agreed to a pay cut to be back with the Titans and he was set to make a base salary of $3.8 million for the 2018 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing will free up $3.85 million of available cap space while creating $1,125,000 in dead money.

In 2017, Searcy appeared in all 16 games for the Titans and recorded 26 tackles, one interception and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 61 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
