Titans Reportedly Have DE Shaun Phillips On Their Radar

Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean reports that the Titans are eyeing free-agent DE Shaun Phillips.

Titans new defensive coordinator Ray Horton is expected to implement a 3-4 defense next season, so they could have interest in Phillips playing outside linebacker like he did during his first nine seasons with the San Diego Chargers.

The Broncos are believed to have interest in re-signing Phillips too, but we haven’t heard much regarding a return in recent weeks.

Phillips, 32, was signed to an extremely low contract last season and was without a doubt of the biggest steals in free agency.

Phillips produced 37 tackles, 10 sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles. He also helped to mitigate the loss of Von Miller at the start of the season, which isn’t exactly easy to do.

Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 18 overall defensive end in a 4-3 system last season.
