Nate Burleson A “Perfect Fit” For The Cowboys?

Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas mentions that veteran WR Nate Burleson is a “perfect fit” for the Cowboys who could use another receiver.

  • Watkins mentions that former Lions OC Scott Linehan is now the Cowboys “passing game coordinator,” so Burleson should have a good idea of the team’s offensive system.
  • Watkins also lists Santonio HolmesJason AvantRobert Meachem and Kenny Britt as other receivers Dallas could consider in the coming weeks.

Burleson was cut loose by the Lions close to a month ago, but hasn’t found much interest up to this point.

The Cowboys, Titans and Buccaneers have both been floated as potential options for Burelson in recent weeks.

Last year, totaled 39 receptions for 461 yards receiving and one touchdown over the course of nine games for the Lions.

Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com reports that the Titans are showing interest in free agent WR Nate Burleson.

The Titans aren’t desperate need of a receiver, but they are losing Kenny Britt, so it couldn’t hurt to see what Burleson has to offer at this point in his career.
