Titans Reportedly Offered No. 5 Overall & 3rd-Rd Pick To Saints For Brandin Cooks & No. 11 Pick

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that the Titans offered to swap the No. 5 overall pick for the Saints’ No. 11 selection and include an additional third-round pick in a trade for WR Brandin Cooks.

On Monday, Titans GM Jon Robinson said during an appearance on the Midday 180 that they did not offer the No. 18 overall pick to the Saints in a trade for Cooks, which had come up as a speculative option.

Although Robinson did say they “maybe potentially” offered a deal that included swapping the No. 5 overall pick for the Saints’ No. 11 overall pick and Cooks and we now have confirmation that these reports were, in fact, accurate.

Florio previously reported that the Eagles offered the Saints veteran S Malcolm Jenkins, a third- and fourth-round pick for Cooks (NFLTR).

Ultimately, the Saints agreed to trade Cooks and a 2017 fourth-round pick to the Patriots in return for 2017 first- and third-round picks.

As for the Titans, you expect them to remain in the market for receiver help should a good opportunity surface in either free agency, the draft or by trade.
