Titans S Johnathan Cyprien Out For Season With Torn ACL

Titans HC Mike Vrabel announced Thursday S Johnathan Cyprien suffered a torn ACL during Wednesday’s practice and will subsequently miss the entire 2018 season.

You can expect the Titans to place Cyprien on injured reserve at some point in the near future.

The Titans have already been linked to free agent safeties including Kenny Vaccaro and Eric Reid, so it won’t be surprising to see them sign someone in the coming days.

Cyprien, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $5,469,104 contract with the Jaguars before signing a four-year, $25 million contract with the Titans last year.

Cyprien stands to make base salaries of $4.5 million and $5.5 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Cyprien appeared in 10 games for the Titans and recorded 57 tackles, one sack, no interceptions and a pass defense.
