Titan’s S Michael Griffin told Nashville’s 102.5 The Game that he’s ok with being franchised by the team, per Terry McCormick.
Griffin joined the radio station earlier today and offered his opinion as to what his future may be like with the team which can be heard on their SoundCLOUD audio stream. He didn’t go too in depth on the subject but did say that he realizes “ it’s a business.”
If the Titans were to use their franchise tag on Griffin, they would be looking at paying him a guarantee salary of $6.2 million for the 2012 season. The possibility that Tennessee could lose CB Cortland Finnegan may force them consider keeping Griffin, even if it requires them to use their franchise tag on him. Griffin, has been in the league for 5 years now and has been a solid player at the next level, having recorded 389 tackles, 7 forced fumbles and 17 interceptions in his career.
