Titans Serious About QB Competition Between Matt Hasselbeck & Jake Locker?

ESPN’s Paul Kuharsky writes that he’s not buying into the belief that Matt Hasselbeck can’t lose the Tennessee Titans starting quarterback job. Instead, Kuharsky opines that head coach Mike Munchak “wouldn’t be setting it up as a competition for show.”

Jake Locker looked pretty good in the limited amount of playing time that he was given last season and there’s no question that he has a higher upside heading into 2012. Despite this, the general consensus has been that Hasselbeck will likely end up with the job. That may end up being the case, but it he’ll certainly have plenty of pressure on him to start the season off strong. The Titans will have Patriots, Chargers, Lions and Texans to begin the season, so they certainly have their work cut out for them.
