Titans Showing “Decent Interest” In QB Mark Sanchez

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Titans are showing “decent interest” in free agent QB Mark Sanchez.

  • Garafolo adds that a return to the Eagles is still a possibility.
  • Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com recently reported that Eagles and Sanchez have “strong mutual interest” in him being back in Philadelphia next season.
  • According to Shorr-Parks, it remains to be seen whether the two sides will be able to get a deal in place before the start of free agency on Tuesday.

Sanchez is considered to be one of, if not, the best available quarterbacks in this year’s free agent class, so he could have a decent market.

The Titans could use a better back up option if they play to go with Zach Mettenberger next year, but it seems unlikely that Sanchez would take a backup role with the Titans, especially if the Eagles are interested.

Sanchez, 28, signed a one-year deal worth $2,250,000 contract with the Eagles last year after he was cut loose by the Jets.

In 2014, he wound up appearing in nine games and threw for 2,418 yards while completing 64.1 percent of his passes to go along with 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 quarterback out of 39 qualifying players.

We have Sanchez listed as the No. 83 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
