Titans Sign 9 Players Futures Deals Including LB Kourtnei Brown

The Tennessee Titans announced that they’ve signed nine players to future/reserve contracts including:

  1. WR Jonathan Krause
  2. OL Karim Barton
  3. LB Kourtnei Brown
  4. TE Jerome Cunningham
  5. RB David Fluellen
  6. T Tyler Marz
  7. WR K.J Maye
  8. OLB Reshard Cliett
  9. TE Tim Semisch

Cliett, 24, was taken with the No. 211 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Texans. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2,370,484 contract when the Texans elected to waive him as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

The Broncos added him to their practice squad a few weeks into the regular season before cutting him loose back in October. After a brief stint with the Jets, Cliett signed on to the Cardinals’ practice squad towards the end of the year ebfore recently being cut.

Last year, Cliett, unfortunately, missed the entire 2015 season after he sustained a torn ACL before the start of the regular season.

Brown, 27, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson back in 2012. Since then, Brown has played for a number of teams including the Redskins, Bills, Lions, Rams, Texans and Buccaneers.

Brown was waived by the Buccaneers coming out of the preseason and later signed on to their practice squad before eventually joining the Titans a month ago.

In 2015, Brown appeared in five games and recorded two tackles.

Krause, 24, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt back in 2014. He lasted five months in Cleveland before he was waived midseason and later signed to the Patriots’ practice squad.

New England brought Krause back on a future/reserve contract before waiving him a few weeks into the 2015 season. The Eagles elected to sign him to their practice squad and eventually promoted him to their active roster in November.

Philadelphia cut him loose back in July and he later caught on with the Buccaneers. Unfortunately, he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

After a brief stint with the Chargers, Krause returned to the Buccaneers before he was cut loose back in October. The Titans then signed him to their practice squad in November.

In 2015, Krause appeared in two games for the Eagles and recorded two receptions for 11 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
