Titans Starting Jake Locker In Week 12?

During Yesterday’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck injured his elbow and was replaced by rookie QB Jake Locker.

Tennessee has said that Hassebeck’s injury is a sprained right elbow but there’s a chance that he also has a strained flexor muscle in his forearm.

I just wasn’t able to throw the ball hard at a competitive level,” Hasselbeck said.

Titans head coach Mike Munchak mentioned that “If Matt is fine, he is the quarterback. There is no doubt about that,” per  Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

Locker finished the game completing 9 of 19 passing attempts for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

Obviously, Locker brings a different skill set to the team than Hasselbeck does but Mike Munchak is doing his best to squash any speculation that there could be a quarterback controversy in Tennessee. If the Titans continue to lose, there will be calls for Locker to start which would seem to make sense as they spent the No. 8 overall pick in the 2011 draft on him. Other rookies are starting and having success so it’s going to be hot topic in the weeks to come in the team falls out of contention for the AFC South title.
