Titans To Sign RB Antonio Andrews To Active Roster

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that the Titans are planning to sign RB Antonio Andrews to their active roster.

According to Wyatt, there are indications that another team had expressed interest in signing Andrews, so the Titans plan to promote him to prevent him from playing elsewhere.

Tennessee currently has running backs Bishop Sankey, Shonn Greene, Dexter McCluster, Leon Washington and Jackie Battle all on their roster, so it’s a pretty crowded backfield right now.

Andrews, 22, signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky back in May. He was unable to make the final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was later added to their practice squad.

During his four years at Western Kentucky, Andrews ran for 3,674 yards on 618 carries (5.9 YPC) and scored total 32 touchdowns. He also contributed 85 receptions for 963 yards receiving.
