Titans Tried Out 6 Players Including QB Christian Ponder

The Tennessee Titans tried out six players on Tuesday including former first-round pick QB Christian Ponder.

The other players who tried out for the Titans include: TE Ryan Taylor, TE Connor Hamlett, TE Kevin Greene, TE Michael Egnew and LB Yannik Cudjoe-Virgil.

Ponder, 27, hasn’t come anywhere the type of player the Vikings were hoping he could be when they used the No. 12 overall pick on him back in 2011. The Raiders signed him to a one-year, $2.25 million contract that included a $1.5 million signing bonus back in March.

Ponder alter worked out for the Cowboys after Tony Romo‘s injury, but didn’t receive an offer from the team.

Last year, Ponder appeared in just two games and threw for 222 yards while completing 50 percent of his passes to go along with no touchdowns and two interceptions.

Egnew, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Dolphins who never lived up to his draft status. He lasted just over two years in Miami before he was waived at the start of last season.

Since then, Egnew has had brief stints with the Lions, Jaguars, Steelers, and Saints.

In his last season of activity on 2013, Egnew appeared in 15 games for Miami and caught seven passes for 69 yards and no touchdowns.
