Titans Waive RB David Fluellen, Promote DL Mehdi Abdesmad

The Tennessee Titans announced Monday that they’ve promoted DL Mehdi Abdesmad to their active roster and waived RB David Fluellen.

Fluellen, 24, originally signed on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo back in May of 2014. He lasted a few months in Philadelphia before the Eagles traded him to the Colts in return for K Cody Parkey. Indianapolis cut Fluellen just a few weeks later.

Fluellen later signed on with the Titans and returned to the team on a future/reserve contract this past January. However, he was cut loose coming out of the preseason and later signed to their practice squad. Tennessee promoted him to their active roster over a month ago.

Fluellen has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Abdesmad, 25, signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out Boston back in May of this year. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was eventually added to Tennesee’s practice squad.

He has yet to appear during an NFL game.

During his five-year college career, Abdesmad recorded 97 total tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, one pass defense, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
