Titans Will Not Franchise TE Jared Cook After All, Rams An Option?

According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, the Titans will not be using their franchise tag on TE Jared Cook.

Earlier in the day, Wyatt mentioned that the two sides “reached an impasse” regarding a long-term extension and the Titans didn’t want to fight Cook through arbitrator regarding whether or not he would be considered a tight end or a receiver.

Cook, 25, is in a great position to secure a very solid contract on the open market, despite not producing at a high level for the Titans in recent years.

Jason La Canfora tweets that the St Louis Rams could “strongly” pursue Cook now that he’ll be available.

We currently have Cook listed as the No.40 free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents list
