Titans Work Out Former First-Round Pick OT Derek Sherrod

Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that the Tennessee Titans brought in former Packers OT Derek Sherrod for a workout this week.

Green Bay waived Sherrod, a former first-round pick, last Monday as they made room for OL J.C Tretter who was coming off of the short-term injured reserve list.

The Packers elected not to pick up Sherrod’s fifth-year option several months ago, which came as no surprise given that he has been limited to being active for just 12 games over the course of his first three years in the NFL.

Of course, this is due to the fact that he suffered a very serious compound leg fracture, which wound up derailing his NFL career.

The Titans have expressed concerns publicly with their offensive line play, so can’t hurt to bring in Sherrod to see if he can help them moving forward.

This season, Sherrod appeared in eight games, but has played just six snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
