News Channel 5 in Nashville is reporting that Titans WR Justin Hunter is in jail in Virginia after he was charged him with one count of felonious assault in Virginia Beach.

According to the report, Hunter turned himself in Monday after a warrant was filed in relation to an incident that occurred earlier in July.

The Virginia Beach Sheriff’s office lists the charges against Hunter as “malicious intent, stabbing, cutting and wounding” the victim.

Police responded to a call of a large fight in which a victim was to a hospital for injuries sustained during the incident.

Investigators have pegged Hunter as a suspect in the case, but investigation is still ongoing.

Hunter, 24, still has two years remaining on his four-year, $5.424 million rookie contract and stands to make base salaries of $898,104 and $1,144,656 over the next two years.

Since the Titans used a second-round selection on him back in 2013, Hunter has yet to live up to expectations. In fact, the Titans wound up using another second-round pick on Dorial Green-Beckham and a seventh-round pick Tre McBride, so it’s clear that the pressure is on Hunter this season.

In 2014, Hunter Hunter appeared in 12 games for the Titans and recorded 28 receptions for 498 yards receiving and three touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Hunter as the news is available.
