Todd Haley In “Serious Talks” With Browns About Offensive Coordinator Job

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that Todd Haley is in “serious talks” with the Browns to become their new offensive coordinator under Hue Jackson.

The Steelers made the decision to not renew Haley’s contract a few days ago and promote QBs coach Randy Fichtner to offensive coordinator.

Since then, Haley has come up as a potential option for the Jets and Cardinals’ offensive coordinator jobs.

Jackson has discussed the possibility of hiring an offensive coordinator for the 2018 season after handling the responsibilities himself the first two years in Cleveland.

Other candidates for the job include Former Giants HC Ben McAdoo, former Titans HC Mike Mularkey and Texans QBs coach Sean Ryan. 

Haley, 50, began his NFL career with the Jets as a scouting assistant back in 1995. He has worked for a number of teams including the Bears, Cowboys and Chiefs before joining the Steelers as their offensive coordinator in 2012.

In 2017, the Steelers’ offense ranked No. 3 in total yards, No. 8 in points scored, No. 20 in rushing yards and No. 3 in passing yards under Haley.
