Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Patriots QB Tom Brady has been in contact with veteran WRs Brandon Lloyd and Deion Branch about possibly returning to New England.
According to Rapoport, Brady has been “calling and texting” with both receivers. Branch is reporteldy “ready whenever,”but Lloyd intends to focus on shooting a movie before considering a return to the NFL.
The fact that both players are on the Patriots radar speaks volumes regarding just how much they trust their young wide receivers, who have fallen short of expectations in the first few games of the season.
Lloyd would appear to have more left in the tank than Branch, but was fading in a quick way last season.
Jason La Canfora tossed out the idea that the Patriots could always contact the Steelers regarding WRÂ Emmanuel Sanders, who they signed to offer sheet during the offseason.
The Browns are reportedly shopping their young WRs Josh Gordon and Greg Little, so they too could be options for the Pats.
