Tom Brady’s Suspension Could Be “Significantly” Reduced & Possibly Overturned

ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned during an appearance on The Herd Tuesday that Tom Brady is putting together as “unreal” team of talented and experienced lawyers ahead of his appeal hearing.

Yesterday, it was announced that Brady had hired Jeffrey Kessler, who handled the Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, and Greg Hardy cases for the NFLPA, so there is a decent enough chance that his four-game suspension could ultimately be reduced in the end.

According one source who spoke to Schefter, Brady’s legal team could “help him reduce his suspension significantly, and perhaps have it overturned.

Schefter points out that the NFL’s ruling in this case has as much for a lack of cooperation from Spygate as it was for deflating footballs.

The NFL reportedly knew that they were going to come down hard on the Patriots on Monday, but they didn’t put together the specific punishment until around 3 p.m. ET.

The the vibe in New England is reportedly one of anger more than anxiety and Schefter mentions that the Patriots are unlikely “to go quietly into the night” now that they’ve been punished.

We’ll have more updates regarding Brady’s appeal as the news is available.
