Tony Sparano’s Job On The Line This Weekend?

A report from the Miami Herald suggests that Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano could be let go if the team ends up losing to the Denver Broncos this weekend.

Miami is currently 0-5 Dolphins and starting Matt Moore at quarterback after losing Chad Henne for the season. The Dolphins appeared to be unwilling to make a move to acquire someone that was going to give them a shot at winning which has left Sparano in a pretty tough situation. Yes the defense is under performing and their receivers are dropping balls all over the place but it’s hard to say that Sparano was given all that much to work with this year.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross spent his offseason courting Sparano’s replacement but ultimately lost out to the 49ers and he decided to keep Sparano on as the teams coach. This is the situation that Ross has been looking. Sparano has lost his last eight games dating back to last season and the team is greatly under performing which makes the move much easier for the fan base to swallow. Then again they probably would have been ok without him last year. Mike Nolan looks to be in line for the interim coaching position so look for him to take over if the Dolphins lose to Tim Tebow this weekend.
