Toronto Argonauts Sign RB/KR Dexter McCluster

The Toronto Argonauts announced Monday that they’ve signed former NFL RB/KR Dexter McCluster to a contract.

McCluster worked out for the Argonauts last week and it looks like he showed enough to earn a contract offer.

McCluster, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2010. He spent four years in Kansas City before signing a three-year, $9 million contract with the Titans for the 2014 season.

The Chargers signed McCluster to a contract in 2016. The Jets brought him in for a workout last summer, but didn’t sign him to a contract and he wound up sitting out the season.

For his career, McCluster totaled 1,042 rushing yards on 250 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with 236 receptions for 1,993 yards receiving and nine total touchdowns over the course of seven seasons and 89 games played. He also totaled 1,388 punt yards, 1,554 kick return yards and three touchdowns.
