Trade Details For Chiefs Move Up For QB Patrick Mahomes

The Kansas City Chiefs traded up to the No. 10 overall pick with the Bills to select Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes.

Chiefs receive:

  • 2017 first-round pick (No. 10): Patrick Mahomes

Bills receive:

  • 2017 first-round pick (No. 27): Tre’Davious White
  • 2017 third-round pick (No. 91):
  • 2018 first-round pick

Earlier in the day, there were rumors circulating that the Chiefs were weighing a trade up into the top 10 picks, and sure enough, they elected to pull the trigger on a move to trade up and get their quarterback of the future.

Many experts believe Mahomes will need some time to develop, which happens to be something the Chiefs can offer, considering that they still have Alex Smith in place as their starting quarterback.

During his three-year college career at Texas Tech, Mahomes recorded 857 completions on 1349 attempts (63.5 percent) for 11,252 passing yards, 93 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions.
