TRADE: Eagles Trade OT Matt Tobin & 7th-Rd Pick To Seahawks For 5th-Rd Pick

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they’ve traded OT Matt Tobin and a 2018 7th-round pick to the Seahawks in return for a 2018 5th-round pick.

  • The Seahawks also waived TE Marcus Lucas with an injury designation to make room for Tobin.

The Seahawks were clearly looking to bolster their offensive tackle depth after they lost George Fant to a serious injury last week.

Ian Rapoport reports that Seattle had been making calls around the NFL all day about potential trades for an offensive tackle and appear to have settled on Tobin.

Tobin, 27, wound up signing on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa back in 2013. He managed to make the 53-man roster each season before signing a two-year with the Eagles last year.

Tobin is owed a base salary of $850,000 for the 2017 season and will be an unrestricted free agent next year.

In 2016, Tobin was active for 12 games and placed a total of 101 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. Overall, PFF has Tobin graded as below average in both run and pass protection.
