TRADE: Jaguars Send DE Chris Smith To Bengals For Conditional 2018 7th-Rd Pick

The Cincinnati Bengals announced that they’ve traded a 2018 conditional draft pick to the Jaguars in return for DE Chris Smith.

  • Jim Owczarski reports that the conditional pick in this trade is a 2018 seventh-round selection.

Smith, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2014. He, unfortunately, lasted just a few months before he was waived a few weeks into the regular season. Jacksonville later added him to their practice squad before eventually calling him up later on in the year.

Smith is currently in the final year of his four-year, $2,407,252 contract and stands to make a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Smith appeared in six games for the Jaguars and recorded four tackles and one sack.
