Troy Polamalu & LaMarr Woodley Could Both Be Out For Week 6

The Steelers defense has had problems staying healthy this season and following Sunday’s win over the Eagles, it appears they won’t be at full health for Thursday night’s game against the Titans as safety Troy Polamalu and linebacker LaMarr Woodley both suffered injuries.

Per Ed Bouchette, Steelers head coach has ruled Polamalu out for Thursday night’s game. Polamalu’s troublesome calf acted up again Sunday, which is the second time he’s pulled it in a month.

The Steelers should be concerned with Polamalu’s calf as it’s given him problems since last season. You have to start to wonder if Polamalu will ever be able to stay healthy for an entire season considering the rash of injuries that he has dealt with. Ryan Mundy is set to be Polamalu’s replacement.

As far as Woodley is concerned, it almost sounds as though he would have a chance of playing if the game was played on Sunday versus Thursday. Woodley should almost certainly be ready to go for the Steelers in Week 7. Jason Worilds will step in as Woodley’s replacement.
