Veteran C Chris Myers Announces Retirement From NFL

Former Broncos and Texans C Chris Myers announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday.

“When you know, you know” said Myers, via CBS Houston.

Myers was, arguably, the best available center and probably could have been in training camp with an NFL team, but he took a job working in radio, which implied that he was prepared to move on.

Houston cut Myers loose back in March and his market has been slow developing since he became available. The Raiders, Broncos and Seahawks have all shown some level of interest in Myers, so they could be the teams he’s considering.

Myers, 33, was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 16 center in the league last season out of 41 qualifying players. It’s worth mentioning that he never missed a single game in the last nine years and he was selected to two Pro Bowls.
