Veteran CB Drayton Florence Changes Mind About Retirement, Looking For A New Team

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that veteran CB Drayton Florence is making a comeback after he elected to retire from the NFL earlier in the year.

  • According to Garafolo, Florence believes he has some good football left.

There are a number of teams that could use some help at cornerback, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him generate some interest in the coming weeks.

Florence, 34, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2003. He has played for a number of teams over the course of his career including the Jaguars, Bills, Broncos, Lions, and Panthers.

Last year, Florence signed a one-year deal with the Lions in August, but only lasted a few weeks with the team before he was cut loose.

Over the course of his 11-year career, Florence recorded 414 total tackles, 20 interceptions, 104 pass defenses, two forced fumbles, six recoveries and four defensive touchdowns.
