Veteran DE Chris Clemons Visiting With Seahawks, Could Sign A Deal

Albert Breer of NFL Media reports that veteran DE Chris Clemons is visiting with the Seahawks on Wednesday.

According to Breer, if things go well during the meeting, Seattle could sign him to a contract today.

Clemons spent a number of years in Seattle, so he could be a decent value signing for the Seahawks if they feel like he’s got something left to offer.

Clemons, 34, was entering the third year of his four-year, $17.5 million contract that included $5.475 million guaranteed when he was released in a move that freed up $4 million in available cap space for the Jaguars.

In 2015, Clemons appeared in all 16 games for the Jaguars and recorded 14 tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble, a recovery returned for a touchdown and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 110 edge defender out of 110 qualifying players.
