Veteran DE Jamaal Anderson, WR Armanti Edwards & QB Rusty Smith Trying Out For The Saints

The Saints are hosting 38 players for tryouts this weekend during their minicamp that runs through Sunday, according to the New Orleans Times-Pacayune.

Veteran DE Jamaal Anderson, WR Armanti Edwards, C Samson Satele and QB Rusty Smith are among the most notable players trying out for the team.

Anderson, 28, was the No. 7 overall pick of the 2007 NFL Draft, but has bounced around quite a bit in recent years. He signed with the Bears in July of last year, but was unable to make the team and was subsequently released at the start of the season and would go on to sit out the entire 2013 season.

Edwards, 26, was with the Panthers and Browns last year, but only appeared in six games and catching a single pass for 10 yards.

Smith , 27, actually worked out for the Saints last month. However, he would later sign with the Giants, but lasted just a few weeks before he was waived. He has appeared in just three games over the course of his NFL career.

Satele, 29, was a cap casualty before the start of free agency and has found no reported interest before this news. Satele is a seven-year veteran, but is coming off of back-to-back sub par seasons, according to Pro Football Focus.
