Doug Kyed of NESN reports that Patriots veteran DT Alan Branch has informed his teammates that he’s received a suspension.

Kyed doesn’t say how long the suspension is or what it’s for in particular.

The Patriots placed Branch on the non-football injury list a few weeks ago.

Branch, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2007. He spent four years in Arizona before brief stints with the Seahawks and Bills.

The Patriots elected to sign him to a two-year, $4.3 million contract in March of last year. He stands to make a base salary of $1.2 million in 2016 after the Patriots paid him his $400,000 offseason roster bonus.

In 2015, Branch appeared in all 16 games for the Patriots and recorded 35 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles and two pass defenses.

We’ll have more regarding Branch’s suspension as the news is available.
