Veteran LB NaVorro Bowman Expected To Sign With New Team No Later Than Monday

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, free agent LB NaVorro Bowman is expected to sign no later than Monday.

While the 49ers announced that they’re releasing Bowman on Friday, his release wasn’t submitted in time for yesterday’s transactions, so he won’t officially be a free agent until later today.

Either way, there appears to be a decent amount of interest in him already and I’m sure we’ll start seeing teams connected to him in the near future.

Bowman, 29, is a former third-round pick of the 49ers back in 2010. He was in the second year of his seven-year, $77 million contract that includes $20 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $6.75 million for the 2017 season when the 49ers released him.

It’s worth mentioning that Bowman is still working his way back from a season-ending Achilles tear he suffered last year.

In 2017, Bowman has appeared in five games for the 49ers and recorded 38 tackles, no sacks or interceptions and one pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 63 linebacker out of 86 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
