Veteran OT Ryan Clady Retiring From NFL

Free agent OT Ryan Clady announced that he’s retiring from the NFL on Tuesday.

Clady, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2008. After eight years in Denver, Clady was traded to the Jets for a 2016 fifth-round pick that became Leshaun Sims.

The Jets declined to pick up his $10 million option for the 2017 season, which allowed him to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. However, there hasn’t been any reported interest in him for several months now, despite the fact that he was the best available player at a premium position.

In 2016, Clady appeared in nine games for the Jets before he was placed on injured reserve with a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder. Pro Football Focus has him rated the No. 62 tackle out of 78 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
