Dolphins Working Out QBs Brady Quinn, John Skelton & Rex Grossman Monday

Update:

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, reports that the Dolphins are not signing veteran QB Rex Grossman to a contract Monday.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins will also be working out veteran quarterbacks Brady Quinn and John Skelton on Monday.

Fox Sports announced a few weeks ago that Quinn will begin work as a college and NFL analyst on Fox Sports 1 and appear on America’s Pregame and other Fox shows.

Even after he took the job with Fox, Quinn said that he’s keeping his options open in regards to playing in the NFL.

Quinn, 29, hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2012 when he was with the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent the 2013 season with the Seahawks, Jets, and Rams.

Skelton, 26, was last with the Tennessee Titans before he was ultimately placed on waivers in December. He has found no reported interest before this.

Skelton last appeared in an NFL game back in 2012 while he was with the Arizona Cardinals.

Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for veteran QB Rex Grossman, mentioned in an interview with WSVN-Fox that his client is working out for the Dolphins on Monday, per Barry Jackson.

Grossman, 33, hasn’t found any reported interest as a free agent this year. Although, he was linked to the Browns as a speculative option given that he has spent a number of years working with their new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.

The Dolphins are dealing with injuries to backup quarterbacks Matt Moore and Pat Devlin, which has left them with undrafted free agent Seth Lobato working with the No. 2 offense.

It’s been three years since Grossman last appeared in an NFL game.
